About

Jorge Romualdo

Photographer between Lapland and Porto.

A photographer working between northern Finland and northern Portugal: aurora, portrait, food and editorial work, shot with the same eye for light and story wherever I'm standing.

Based in Rovaniemi, with regular work in Porto and Helsinki, and available anywhere for the right project. My roots are in Portugal, and I spent around fifteen years in the UK before moving to Finland in 2020.

I'm a Getty Images contributor, and I split my time between assignment photography and running small-group photography and aurora tours through ScandiXplore. I guide in English, Portuguese and Spanish, and I'm studying Tourism Management alongside the work.

The two sides feed each other. Years of guiding people through unfamiliar light and landscape shaped how I photograph them, and photographing them shaped how I guide.

What I shoot

What kind of photography do you shoot?

Aurora and landscape work in Lapland, portrait sessions in Porto, Rovaniemi and Helsinki, food and editorial photography, and event coverage. A selection of the work is on Getty Images.

Do you offer portrait sessions?

Yes, in Porto, Rovaniemi and Helsinki. Sessions are small and unhurried, built around natural light and a real location rather than a studio backdrop.

Can I book a photography tour, not just a shoot?

Yes. Through ScandiXplore I run small-group (max 6 guests) aurora hunts, wildlife and photography tours in Rovaniemi, food and photography tours in Porto, and walking tours in Helsinki.

Do you license images for editorial or commercial use?

Yes. Some of the work is licensed through Getty Images. For direct licensing or usage outside Getty, see Licensing.
